2016 Poppy Campaign Report

Thanks to the kind and generous support of the residents in all communities within Prince Edward Island, for the Poppy Campaign year starting October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015. Total donations of $189,970.46 were collected from the sale of wreaths and crosses and poppy donations.

$92,295.00 was spent on supplies, promotional material, etc.  Disbursements to date for this poppy year were $70,748.00, leaving a reserve of approximately $22,000.00 for later distribution.  Some of the ways this money was used include:

Providing assistance to ex-service members and their families.;

Donations to all Island hospitals for medical equipment;

Donations to Meals on Wheels, Pat and the Elelphant, Transportation West and others;

Donations to Military Resource Centre;

Providing bursaries for qualifying students;

Supporting Cadet Units in our Province.

Under no circumstances are Poppy funds used for the purpose of operation of the Branch or for the benefit of its members except as indicated above.

The final figures for the 2015 campaign will be published at a later date.
