VETERANS’ SERVICE RECOGNITION BOOK – VOLUME 19 / 107 THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND COMMAND WILSON, Chester Arthur WWII Chester was born in 1913 in Westmoreland, PEI, the son of Fred and Carrie Wilson. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on September 15, 1939, and was discharged on October 23, 1945. He served in England and in Italy during World War II as a Corporal and Bombardier. He married his war bride, Florence, in England and they returned to PEI and spent most of their life in Westmoreland with their four children. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Borden-Carlton Branch 10 for many years. Chester passed away in 1986. WHITE, Robert Joseph WWII Robert was born in Alberton District, son of Fred and Blanche (Dunn) White. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on September 10, 1940 and was discharged on August 29, 1945. He served as a Leading Aircraftsman in Canada. TROWSDALE, John Arthur “Jack” PEACETIME Jack was born in Westmoreland, PEI on February 15, 1933, the son of Edward and Della (Dawson) Trowsdale. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force during peacetime in 1955. After training, he served in France, Germany, and Trenton, Ontario. After retiring, he resided in Summerside. Jack played guitar at many caleighs across the island. He passed away on December 13, 2019. Jack was buried in Westmoreland Baptist Church Cemetery.
