VETERANS’ SERVICE RECOGNITION BOOK – VOLUME 19 / 47 THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND COMMAND FALL, George Dave WWII George was born in Crapaud, PEI on May 13, 1917, the son of Clark and Eva Fall. He served in World War II in Canada with the Royal Canadian Air Force in its HQ in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Corporal Fall passed away in February 1990 in Port Wallace, Nova Scotia. FALL, Earl Rand WWII Earl was born April 30, 1923, in Crapaud, PEI, the son of Clark and Eva Fall. He served in World War II in Canada, Central Mediterranean Area and Northeast Europe with the Cape Breton Highlanders as an infantry soldier. He was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and the Netherlands Medal of Remembrance. Private Fall was wounded in action in Florence, Italy, recovered, and returned to action in Northwest Europe. He passed away on June 15, 2003, in Charlottetown. DOYLE, Lorne WWI Private Lorne Doyle was born on June 21, 1893 in Cumberland to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Doyle. Lorne worked at farming in Cumberland when he enlisted. He was single. Private Doyle volunteered with the 105th Overseas Battalion in Charlottetown on November 11, 1915. He listed at the age of 21. He had been active with the 82nd Regiment Militia. Private Doyle was killed in action on April 12, 1917, at the age of 23. He was serving with the 13th Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Quebec Regiment). Private Doyle died when the troops advanced to take Vimy Ridge. He is buried in Ecoivres Military Cemetery, Mont-St. Eloi, Pas de Calais, France. Plots V and VI contain the graves of men killed in the capture of Vimy Ridge in April 1917. Doyle rests in Plot VI. L. 26. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Canadian divisions brought back their casualties from the front for burial. His sacrifice is commemorated on Page 399 of the First World War Book of Remembrance in the Peace Tower.
