VETERANS’ SERVICE RECOGNITION BOOK – VOLUME 19 / 63 THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND COMMAND LENENTINE, Walter Hazen WWII Walter was born on July 6, 1922, the son of Harold and Verel (Schriver) Lenentine. He enlisted to serve his country in World War II with the Canadian Army earning his stripes as sergeant. He served from April 17, 1942, to July 6, 1972. Serving in Vietnam Peacekeepers Unit, he was awarded with peacekeeping ICFC Service Medal presented by Colonel L. G. MacNevin. He served with the Regular Force staff at the Provincial Warming Centre previously serving with the International Commission where supervision and control in the southeast Asia theatre. He was stationed in Hawaii, Phenom and Saigon. Walter and his wife Irene raised a family of six. He passed away on April 28, 2009. Walter was laid to rest in Kellys Cross Cemetery, PEI. LEARY, Clarence H. WWII Clarence was born in Brooklyn, Hants County, Nova Scotia in 1920. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Newfoundland from 1941 to 1945 during World War II. He was married to Frances and was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Borden Carleton Branch 10. Clarence passed away in 2000. LEARD, Frank Canfield WWI Frank was born in Westmoreland, PEI on November 1, 1889. He enlisted on March 24, 1916, and served as a member of 105th Overseas Battalion CEF and 82nd Militia during World War I. He was discharged on February 28, 1919.
