His siblings were: Margaret, Mary, and Donald. Neil McEachern worked on his family farm in Rice Point. He volunteered with the 105th Overseas Battalion in Charlottetown. It was November 19, 1915 and he was 23 years old. Private McEachern was wounded while serving overseas. On return to Canada, Neil McEachern married his wife and then settled in the United States. MAYHEW, Wendell WWII Wendell was born in Westmoreland, PEI, the son of Robert and Edna Newson. He enlisted in World War II, trained in Cornwall, Ontario with the Signals. After training, he served in Canada and Europe. When he returned home, he started a radio shop and sales. Wendell married Myrtle and raised a family of five. He passed away on August 4, 2007. MATTHEWS, Basil Clayton WWII Basil was born in Northport, PEI in 1919, the son of Silas and Lydia (Wells) Matthews. He enlisted in the Militia on November 22, 1940, and was discharged on September 30, 1942. He served in Canada as a Private in the PEI Light Horse Division during World War II. Basil passed away in 1994.
