VETERANS’ SERVICE RECOGNITION BOOK – VOLUME 20 / 39 THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND COMMAND CAMPBELL, John Edward WWII John was born in Nine Mile Creek to parents Hector and Celina (Harrington) Campbell. He had four siblings: Roy, Pearl, Elsie, Eileen. John joined the Royal Canadian Air Force at the outbreak of World War II. His brothers Roy and Alex MacDougall volunteered at the same time. John served in North Africa during the hostilities. After the war, he worked in the mines in Malartic, Quebec and moved to Ontario where he worked in the steel mills. He eventually settled in Wainfleet, Ontario. He worked with Atlas Steel in Welland, Ontario. John married Helen Wilhemenia Gallant of New Brunswick. They had four children. John has passed away and is buried in Dunnville, Ontario. CAMPBELL, John Dan WWII John was born in 1919 in Cardigan North, PEI. He served with the Canadian Army. John is deceased. BROTHERS, Alban WWII Alban was born in 1918 at Bear River, PEI. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Alban is deceased.
