VETERANS’ SERVICE RECOGNITION BOOK – VOLUME 20 / 49 THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND COMMAND DOCKENDORFF, Edgar Jacob WWII Edgar was born in Mount Hope, PEI in 1917. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force, 415th Squadron as a flight engineer and was sent overseas. While flying out of Tain, near Edinburg, Scotland, on a North Sea submarine patron, Edgar was killed when his plane collided with another. He had been married less than a year, with his widow, Marion Hume, residing in Charlottetown. DOCHERTY, Earl Alexander WWII Earl was born in Kingston, PEI in 1917. He served with the Canadian Army. Earl passed away in 1993. DEANS, Alexander M. SPECIAL DUTY AREA Alexander was born in Ontario. He served with the No. 2 District Depot RCA in Canada. Mr. Deans passed away in 2010 and was buried in an unmarked grave at Tryons Peoples Cemetery in 2021. He received a headstone through the Last Post Fund.
