VETERANS’ SERVICE RECOGNITION BOOK – VOLUME 20 / 57 THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND COMMAND GALLANT, Cyrus Joseph WWI Cyrus was born in Piusville, PEI. He served the Canadian Army “H” Coy 1st Depot Battalion Nova Scotia Regiment 17th Reserve in England. GALLANT, Clifford Joseph WWII Clifford was born in Bloomfield District, the son of John and Zelie (Gaudet) Gallant. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve on February 16, 1942 and was discharged on June 5, 1945. He served as an Able Seaman in the North Atlantic and England. FRIZZELL, Frederick Alfred KOREA Frederick was born on June 6, 1931, in Charlottetown, PEI, to Alfred Frizzell and Matilda (MacEachern). He enlisted on May 30, 1947 in the Reserve Army as a signalman and was discharged on June 9, 1950. He then enlisted on June 20, 1951 in the Regular Force and served until September 6, 1955. He served as a signalman in the Korean War from April 26, 1952 to May 23, 1953. He was awarded the Korea Medal and the United Nation Service Medal. He married Edwina Frances Theresa (Loughran) on November 15, 1983. Frederick passed away on February 11, 2001 and is buried at Argyle Shore Cemetery.
