He enlisted in the Army on April 17, 1941 and was discharged on June 7, 1945. He served as a Gunner in the NRMA and #6 Clearing Depot in Canada and the North Atlantic. GALLANT, James Austin WWII James was born in Mayfield, PEI in 1926. He served in the United Kingdom and Central Europe as gunner. He was discharged in 1950. James died in 1991. GALLANT, Gilbert John WWII Gilbert was born in Bloomfield District, the son of John A. and Zelie (Gaudet) Gallant. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on October 1, 1944 and was discharged on December 14, 1945. He served as a Flight Lieutenant and Medical Officer in Canada and the United States.
