VETERANS’ SERVICE RECOGNITION BOOK – VOLUME 20 / 65 THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND COMMAND HOGAN, James Phillip KOREA & PEACETIME James was raised in Cumberland by his parents Frank and Mary (Gaine) Hogan. His siblings were Phillip, Clifford, Willard, Kevin, Gerard, Pauline, Marina, and Patricia. James Hogan joined the service in September 1950 from Charlottetown. He remained in the service after the war and was a career member until the mid 1970’s. James married Catherine White and they eventually settled in Peterborough, Ontario. They had four children: Roger, Diane, Patsy and Linda. James Hogan passed and is interred in Coburg, Ontario. HENNESSEY, George Stanley WWI George was born on July 20, 1887, in Cape Traverse, the son of Lawrence Hennessey and Margaret Muttart. In 1910, he moved to Boston where he married Eliza May Thomas. He enlisted in the Army on November 17, 1915 in Charlottetown with the 105th Battalion. He arrived in England on July 25, 1916. He was sent to France on February 26, 1918 and after serving with the 124 Pioneer Battalion was transferred to the 1st Canadian Engineer Battalion. They were involved in building bridges, railway depots, etc. He was invalided to England on December 31, 1918 for medical reasons and returned to Canada in April 1919 and was discharged on July 3, 1919. He was awarded the Military Medal for bravery in the field by King George V. George passed away in 1946. HARDY, Keith Lockhart WWII Keith was born in Alberton, PEI. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was killed in action.
