He enlisted in the Army on March 22, 1940 and was discharged on September 28, 1945. He served as a Corporal in the # 6 District Depot (Medical Corp) in Canada, United Kingdom, and Continental Europe. BUCHANAN, Neil WWI Neil was born in the Alberton District, son of Murdock and Elizabeth (Adams) Buchanan. He enlisted on December 30, 1915 and was discharged on January 20, 1919. He served as a Private in the 25th and 105th Battalions in Canada, England and France. BARBOUR, David “Athol” WWI David "Athol" was born in the Alberton District, son of James and Margaret Ellen (Gordon) Barbour. He enlisted on March 15, 1915 and was discharged on March 15, 1919. He served as a Private, Sergeant, Sergeant Major, and Quarter Master Sergeant in the 49th, 9th, and 29th Battalions in Canada, England, and France. He received a Military Medal.
